Polin Museum of the History of Polish Jews POLIN - Museum of the History of Polish Jews
Duration 2 - 3 hours.

The Core Exhibition occupying around 43000 sq ft, tells the story of a 1000 years long history of Polish Jews, from their arrival in medieval times until today. During your visit you can either view the entire exhibition or you may select one or two of the following seven galleries:

1. First Encounters   (960-1507)                  2. Paradisus Iudaerorum   (1505-1648)
3. The Jewish Town   (1648-1772)              4. Encounters with Modernity   (1772-1914)
5. On the Jewish Street   (1914-1939)        6. Holocaust   (1939-1944)
7. Postwar Years   (1944-today)

The exhibition has been developed by an international team of scholars and artists. It tells the story by means of images, artifacts, first-person accounts and interactive multimedia and shows social, religious and political diversity of Jews living in Poland. In addition to the Core Exhibition, the Polin Museum organizes temporary exhibitions as well. Polin Museum of the History of Polish Jews

The museum building itself is worth visiting for its very interesting architecture. The building designed by the Finish studio Lahdelma & Mahlamäki received the prestigious Chicago Athenaeum International Architecture Award in 2008, when it was still under construction.

And the location of the Museum is very special; the Museum stands in what was once the heart of Jewish Warsaw, the area which was turned into the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. I am very proud of my license which authorizes me to work as the guide to the Museum exhibitions and also allows me to bring my private tourists in. I strongly recommend visiting the Polin - Museum of the History of Polish Jews!
